Human-centered is not enough.
Hello! I am a design researcher and experience designer focused on community-building. I believe in the powerful change that happens when humanity-centered design intersects with policy to build positive futures with those facing the greatest disadvantages.
As an engineer-turned-designer, prototyping and testing are core to my work. I embrace complex systems and seek structural integrity in my analysis.
I earned my master's degree from the Products of Design MFA program at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and have a bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University.

-
Guide trips for REI Seattle! I have been an outdoor guide for eight years in various activities and parts of the country.
-
Play competitive ultimate and coach a youth team at Jane Addams Middle School (although I'm very short and sometimes get mistaken for a player!)
Current projects (all through AIGA Seattle):
-
Co-directing a partner program for the 2020 Seattle Design Festival called Seattle Happy Places.
-
Founding an initiative called With Not For (formerly Design for Democracy).
-
Participating in the 2020 Changemaker Series as a Design Researcher for non-profit partner Perinatal Support Washington.
Overall, I love getting outside, exploring, and engaging with my various local communities.
